Hi, I have a 97 Saab 900s and I’ve just purchased a new SaaB remote, can a normal locksmith program the remote? Thanks in advance

There are ways a regular locksmith can program for Saab - whether or not they have the tools to do that is another matter. You'd definitely need to call around.

It's worth making some phone calls. If dealer infrastructure is missing it's more likely someone will have a tool that can do the job. I'm thinking like xhorse or something. I suppose if push comes to shove you can always bypass TWICE. Not possible on the 9-3, but fairly easy to do on the 900. It does mean losing access to remotes & it disables the immobilizer.

I’m actually looking at getting the immobiliser to disarm on unlocking as st the moment I unlock the car and then once the ignition is on I push unlock again to turn it off. Bit of a hindrance tbh
