Help!

Went through the trunk to the fuel tank to get to the fuel pump. The fuel pump has a plastic ring around it that holds it in place. Does anyone know which way it screws...clockwise or counter clockwise? It's on there really tight, and we don't want to screw it too hard in the wrong direction or break it! Can anyone help?

This is the fuel pump that's inside the fuel tank.

Karen--

If your car is a 1987, the pump should be held in place by a rubber "funnel" which is secured by a long, thin hose clamp :suprised;

There should be no threaded plastic ring--those came on 1989 and later cars. Can you post a photo of your pump, or perhaps describe it in a little more detail?:confused:
