There was never an air flow kit for cars with 4+ doors, only for <4 doors.
The trunk spoilers for sedans were - AFAIK - all dealer installed accessories. So, no, none of those were options. Any could be purchased from a dealer after delivery.
That sounds right. The larger ones came in later years. Of course, nothing would stop a 1983 Saab owner from going to a dealer in 1990 and buying parts from the accessory catalog.
There was a flatnose kit airflow kit made for the 4-5 door cars and a set made for the 2/3 door cars. There are not many of these still left on the planet. We have finally sourced enough pieces to do our ‘79 five door. Hopefully that will be a completed project this year.
Do you have a part number etc for the 5-door kit? I have most every accessory catalog from '79 to '90 and it does not appear in any of them, or the quick parts reference -'86.
I don’t have the part number handy right now. Google Skandium airflow Saab 900. There is a cool advertising one page flier with sketches that shows up. It shows 5 door models and 2/3 door cars also with the kit installed.
Here are a couple of photos of the box that our 3 door kit came in. Unfortunately the box had a very rough life before it came to us.
I have not seen the kit listed in the accessory catalogs. There was a service bulletin issued discussing some modifications about bending steel mounting brackets on the install process.
