Hello all,

I've got a '74 Sonett, never had any issues with the clutch or transmission until recently. All of the sudden it won't shift into gear anymore. I put the clutch in and try to put it in gear, but it just grinds. Tried double clutching and that isn't working either.

First thought was it might be an issue with the linkage. Noticed the fluid reservoir for the clutch master cylinder was low, so I refilled that. Still nothing. The clutch does feel a little soft, though, and there is a ton of travel until you feel any resistance at all.

Anybody have any ideas of what to try next?

I would bleed the clutch slave cylinder next IMO. You can also check/replace the hose that feeds from the master to the slave. If that’s partially swollen shut I’d imagine that would restrict fluid flow.
