Hi,

BT on my wife's 09 combi worked just fine for about five months. All of a sudden, it would not hold pairing. I just paired her and my phones (two different models) and everything worked fine until the car was turned off and sat for a few hours. Then, when the car was turned back on, pairing with both phones was lost - The "Bluetooth - List" command returned "no paired devices", and I can't connect manually with either phone. However when I tried to re-establish pairing, it wouldn't let me use same device name tag as last time, so I assume the record of the paired device is still there and it's just a glitch in BT firmware.

So, what should I do, short of wasting a day at the dealership. Did anyone have the same problem, and do you have a solution ? Is it something that I could request assistance for via OnStar ? Is there a way to "reboot" the system short of disconnecting the battery ? Any help would be appreciated.

In most of the cases is a problem in the cellphone settings.

When a cellphone is paired with the UHP unit (univelsal handsfree phone), in links paired devices, menu options, it is necessary to pair the phone as trusted device and save to make it functional in the next time.
in the options menu BT cell phone must be visible to all.

does not operate this way or bt options are not displayed in the SID, the BT unit is damaged and needs to be replaced by another one.

That's two phones, not one. And BT was indeed added to the Trusted devices on both. Or do you mean there's a setting in car's BT to add a trusted device ? I always used voice command "Bluetooth" -> "Pair".

I don't recall BT options showing in SID. It woud show a phone icon, word "Bluetooth", or phone # when placing / receiving a call or saving a voice tag.

-trusted device in the cellphone not in the car.

in the car:
check if blue-tooth is "ON" in the SID options (steering wheel button... options/telephone/blue-tooth:
enable/on or disable/off)

I don't think I have a SID options menu. Are you talking about same steering wheel button used to set e.g. the climate control settings ?

BT altought being a ruled by specifications has issues, over the time I've noticed with various hardware (cell phones, handsfree, pc adapters and other hardware). The GM BT option does have compatibility, for example I have no problem with my old Motorola V360 while my wife Nokia's needs to be re-paired sometimes...

I would say:
1.-all phones OS symbian, sync, work but do not load the contacts, or last calls.
2.-phones nokia operating system (not symbian) version bt 2.0 work with almost everyone.
my tests:
nokia 6151 everything works. (bt 2.0, not symbian)
nokia 6680 and n80 synchronization but does not load contacts, no 'last call ..... (symbian).

UHP (universal hands free phone) specifications:
1 .- HFP 1.5 (Hands Free Profile (handsfree profile)
2.-bt compatible with 1.2 and above.

in short, not a matter of bt but symbian OS (operating system not working)

I think this will help

last year I wrote this in saabespaña.com
I heard that the operating system for sony bt, no problem with our cars, since they use the same blue-tooth chip technology.
however, the operating system symbian does not accept contacts, recent calls, it is the mobile brand.
I have three phones in memory synchronized (symbian-2 n6680, 1 n80), which took assets that bt is synchronized when entering the car, but contacts do not work .....
for me is enough without going over expenses ............ as leading not call anyone.
"I tested the base with an old phone (not symbian), but only supports the base and you can not memorize more phones ..........only one cellphone ......... catheter outdated one.

As I heard about some posts in other forums, there is an update tech2 for the UHP - blue-tooth.

some comments (not confirmed by me) said about Version 3.0 and cost about 40€ to 70€. it depends of the dealer and city.
