My 01 9 5 spent the winter in the garage. Last week I took it out and like always ran fine. A couple of days later the gear light came on amd my Tech II poped up with the 0730 code. I called Tony in Appelton and said to bring it in tomorrow.
This morning I stated the car, no light. Drove it around and still no code or light.
It had been raining before the light went on so I am just wondering if there just might have been a false signal due to moisture. The car drove normally and did not go into limp at any time.
Any thought before I cancel the appointment and a 100 mile drive to Tony.

The 0730 is a input/output speed difference error. It's supposed to detect a mechanical fault (slipping clutches or bands) but bad speed sensors or flaky wiring can cause this error as well.

If it doesn't come back after several more drive cycles and the trans is acting OK then I'd chalk it up to an electrical fault. Might be time to clean the wiring harness connectors that live under the battery tray.
