So recently I posted about my 06 Aero that had started having common transmission problems. I have bandaided a fix but I know its not going to last forever so I wanted to look into possibly replacing the trans all together. I wanted to look into swapping a 5 speed from a B207 if that is even possible. From my experience with B207r's the trans is capable of handling at least265hp and285 tqr as that was what my last one was tuned for so it should be fine in theory to hand the 250hp and 255tqr from the B284. I am looking into if the bell housings fit the same and if the ECU would recognize it has a 5 speed if it was to have a flash. Any info would great. Am I dreaming or could it be possible. Worst comes to worst I fork out lots of cash to have the trans rebuilt or swap in a 6MT. I'd prefer a different option though because the issue will inevitably rise again and the 6MT are worth a pretty penny.
