I recently purchased my 2002 SE convertible but the audio system was removed and when doing so they just cut the wires behind the stereo. Is this what is causing the DISPLAY readout to be unreadable perhaps? I can see some of the digits and it does make the warning beep sounds, but I can not read anything it's trying to inform me about.
So I have a new aftermarket stereo I cant wait to install, (got to have tunes...) but Im scared to death of electrical mechanical stuff and know nothing about this car yet. Any and all pointers would be SOOOO appreciated. The car is supposed to be equipped with on star as well I think???, but I think the cut stereo wires disabled that system as well???/. Ill buy a clue from any of you lol.
Thanks,
Denise

I love my SAAB!

No, you have bad SID.
Usually ribbon cable get loose, you can change it or buy new SID which have changed ribbon.

… and the car probably did come with Onstar, but it's not useful... Onstar discontinued support of the old system years ago.
