    Hello, I just recently bought a 2001 9-5, 2.3t that had some engine noise. I got a good deal on it, so I've been working on it. So far, I have cleaned out the oil sump, replaced the main a rod bearings, installed new head, intake and exhaust gaskets, and replaced 3 of the 16 hydraulic tappets...

    How can you tell if the cam follower (lifters) is no good. Can't seem to find a straight answer. Please keep in mind they are hydraulic lifters not rocker arms. Thank you for your time.
