  1. NG900 & OG9-3 Workshop
Hi fellow Saabers, and back yard engineers. I have an '03 SE cabrio 2.0t. Of all the "how do I get the alternator out" questions this one has a twist. I've seen all the videos and looked it up on the Saab information site and prepared myself very well for the job before I ever started. Until I...

Hello, I’ve managed to strip out the top 8mm Allen socket holding in the alternator. I see no way of getting a drill in there to use an easy out in order to get to bolt out without cutting through the wheel well. Anyone have experience with this!!

Hello, can anyone point me in the direction of a decent vid or instruction on how to do this please? I found what I thought was a good vid on youtube but it is not the same configuration as mine. This is for the vauxhall engine with the alternator at the back of the engine (on the right side...

Hey guys, new user as I just bought a 08 Saab turbo X a few weeks back. Love the car and drives like a dream, however, this morning the car wouldn't start, had some sort of clicking noise. There was power to the radio, and navi. Worked fine after a boost. When I turned it on again after a 5...

I am trying to diagnose an alternator issue for my 2003 Saab 9-3 ARC. My car is not warning me of a failing alternator via the SID system and yet I am not getting anything out of the alternator. I have read many things online including that these Bosch alternators "do not self-excite" (meaning I...

Running fine with no issues and one day my 2003 Saab 9-3 Linear 2.0t will not start. Ignition gives one click when the key is turned (it is coming from the starter solenoid). Battery is good. Jumping from another vehicle will not turn the engine over, just get one click. Voltage to starter from...

So... I bought this car from my boss. They had bought this car for their daughter but she hated it. It kept dying on her for no reason while she would be driving somewhere. They sold it to me given I am a mechanic and we figured I would be able to fix the car better and cheaper then they could...

Has anyone replaced the alternator and/or water pump on their sports sedan? I have a 2007 Aero with ~116K on it and it needs an alternator. I would like to do the water pump at the same time. Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks!

I was driving (2002 Saab 9.3) home from school on the freeway yesterday and all of a sudden all of the dash warning lights came on. I said to myself, "oh ****". Then I signaled to change lanes, but the signal did not work. Then I thought I probably don't have any brake lights either. So...

Last week I found that the positive battery connector of my 2001 93 SE full of oxidation and corrosion. Even I found drops of liquid which I think was acid. Before to replace the battery I want to be sure if it is the responsible or is the alternator voltage regulator which overcharging...

Can someone please help or point me in the right direction with a few issues I'm trying to remedy with my 2004 9-3 convertible? 1. Back in November, my alternator quit and left me for dead in the middle of a very busy bridge at rush hour. I took some pictures of the process and put the memory card "in a safe place." Luckily, I recently found it. Here is how I swapped my alternator: The "aircraft" engineer who decided to...
