  1. Cars for Sale - North America
Neglected Viggen needs a new home. We loved each other for many years, but it's time for us to part ways. I have not only not driven her in years, but I have neglected her care as she has sat alone in Washington DC. Here is the deal. Inga is free to a good home. Ideally, I'm looking for someone...

  4. NG900 & OG9-3 Performance, Mods & Tuning
Hi guys. So I've always liked Saab's but never owned one until yesterday, when I decided to go old school and buy a 2001 9-3 SE 2.0 Turbo. I'm used to driving modern German diesels like the Golf GT-TDI, Mercedes ML320, Jetta TDI etc and haven't had a petrol turbo car since the 90's. First...

I attempted to fix my SID1 (unreadable pixels) by swapping the old ribbon cable with a new one, but accidentally caused damage to where it connects on the circuit board. Not sure how to fix this (feel free to post your suggestions), so I am thinking about getting a new SID. So, if I got a newer...

Hi there, I recently obtained a 2001 9-3 SE Hatch and have been looking at fixing a small oil leak before I switch it over to my daily driver. It seems to be leaking on the right hand side of the engine (while facing the car), below the brake vacuum pump somewhere. Having taken the DI cassette...

I have been driving a 2001 SAAB 9-3 Viggen convertible in steel grey for a number of years. I have loved this car for it performance and the pleasure it has been driving it. Unfortunately, over the Christmas holiday, the #4 piston skirt gave up the ghost. It left a bunch of metal pieces in...

Looked under the hood of my 2001 9-3 today and found what looks like a disconnected hose. Anyone know what this is? Should I just reconnect the hose, or do I need to consult a mechanic? I'm not very technical when it comes to cars... Overview of engine compartment A: Close up of disconnected...

I have posted a thread before involving the CEL codes P1312, P1334 and P1110 on a 2001 Saab 9-3 SE 2.0, I have fixed the error code for the P1110 but the P1312 and P1334 still remain, (which I know is cylinder misfires). I have looked and looked and many different people have different...

Sadly, my Saab died while on a family trip to Virginia.... we had it towed back to Minnesota for $1K (ugh!) and are now faced with either fixing it (turbo, head gasket, ignition switch, etc etc) for minimum $2600 (which is also what I still owe on the car!!!) OR selling it. Do you all...
  11. Parts for Sale/Wanted - North America
I am parting out a black 2001 9-3 SE before I send it off to the junkyard in a few weeks. The car is located in Summit Point West Virginia. The car is in rough shape with 185,000 miles, hence the scrapping, but a lot of parts are still good or salvageable. If you have a specific part you are...

This is a semi serious feeler... wagon is rough. Engine mounts need replacing, coolant bypass valve needed and the head gasket is probably due for replacing ( not smoking but loosing coolant). Paint is in good shape but some cosmetic issues due to a low speed hit and run on the left side (dent...

I dropped the key for my 2001 9-5 and one of the little tabs that holds the battery cover in place broke. So now the batter cover is taped on. Can I get a replacement battery cover somewhere? Or maybe a new key shell and swap the innards?
