  5. I feel like nobody has commented on the site redesign?

    The Lounge
Still puzzled as to where the tuning and mod sections went for 9-3 2.0T, V6 and general one
  6. 2.8 Aero - shouldn't the cooling fans stay on?

    9-3 Sedan, Cabrio '04+, Combi, 9-3X Workshop
I live in Arizona. Dry heat but 110 or more this time of year. My fans come on after a 25 minute, 12 mile drive home every workday and stay on for 3-5 minutes. I also open the hood in the garage to assist in the cool down. Something is not right IMO if your fans are not kicking in. 2008 V6 2.8L SC

I only see a 9-3 workshop forum, where are the mod and tuning sections?
  8. Coolant leak 2008 9.3 aero conv 6 cyl turbo

    Engine Oil, Lubricants & Fluids
One of my two short hoses coming off the front of the reservoir had a leak for quite a while, so slow I couldn't see it or feel it. Finally it developed a small crack. I replaced them with the shielded hoses used on the NG 9-5, 2010-11. Matt at eSaabparts knows the numbers. May or may not be...
  9. Falken tires

    Wheels & Tires
I would go to a site like Tire Rack and read their tests and reviews. Everything is a compromise. IMO one is better off with the major brands unless they are not in your budget. And all season tires that are best in snow can tend to be more noisy. If you do a lot of winter driving (I realize...
  10. 2.8 V6 Idle speed?

    9-3 Sedan, Cabrio '04+, Combi, 9-3X Workshop
How many miles? Other than cleaning MAF had nothing else to offer Make sure you use something like this, not just a carb or electrical connection cleaner https://www.amazon.com/CRC-05110-Mass-Sensor-Cleaner/dp/B000J19XSA
  11. 2.8 V6 Idle speed?

    9-3 Sedan, Cabrio '04+, Combi, 9-3X Workshop
Please introduce yourself and your SAAB by filling out your profile, like your location. Have you checked plugs recently? Running stock plugs? Are you measuring MPG the old fashioned way or just the display mpg? Ever clean the MAF? Use correct spray only
  12. 2.8 V6 Idle speed?

    9-3 Sedan, Cabrio '04+, Combi, 9-3X Workshop
13 mpg is very low, I get 18 with AC on in Phoenix when 110 degrees. In rush hour traffic. Aggressive driver too. My Aero V6 is not what I am driving right now but I think the idle is more like 900 rpm. Not sure that alone would account for such poor mileage. Please share some more info on...
  13. Loosing coolant but it’s not visible

    9-3 Sedan, Cabrio '04+, Combi, 9-3X Workshop
Thanks, Diggs. Will check it out. Are you Oz, from Kansas? Know all, sees all, yet behind the curtain of SAAB Central.....
  14. Loosing coolant but it’s not visible

    9-3 Sedan, Cabrio '04+, Combi, 9-3X Workshop
I have had the same issue the last six months. Replaced cap twice, replaced reservoir, no visible leaks, nothing in oil or on the ground or out the rear pipes. I don't lose as much as it sounds like you are, only about 1/4 of an inch every 3-5 days
  15. Bluetooth OBDII readers

    The Lounge
I have a Blue Driver. Works awesome with iOS, but pricey at $99. I also have a $30 cheap one. Finding compatible software was tricky, finally found one (OBD Fusion I believe. No where near as many functions as Blue Driver, and getting Bluetooth connectivity is not seamless but does work...
  16. Mad Skills

    The Lounge
Didn't Chevy Chase do that in one of th Vacation movies, but with a disguised Ford LTD station wagon? That was more impressive than with a Ferrari, right?
  17. Battery insulation cover

    9-3 Sedan, Cabrio '04+, Combi, 9-3X Workshop
A link would be better than a picture, but it looks like it is 30 Euro. In US an OEM SAAB insulation insert in like $20 USD, what is that? 16 pounds? https://www.esaabparts.com/saab/parts/12782451 I have these on two of my SAAB 9-3, a 2.0T and a 2.8 L V6. Does it help? Hard to tell, but it...
  18. 03-11 9-3 2.0T B207R DI or ?

    9-3 Sedan, Cabrio '04+, Combi, 9-3X Workshop
I am confused. I read a lot of threads and see YouTube videos about carbon buildup on the backside of intake valves. Mostly because they don't get washed with fuel like port injection engines. I posted on my local SAAB forum and they said we don't have DI engines. Do I need to worry about...
  19. Buying Used 93 Convertible Advice

    The Lounge
No problems finding most parts on 2004-2011 9-3 https://www.esaabparts.com And there are others SAABsite Even Rock Auto And many of the various SAAB part retailers get their parts from Orio https://www.orio.com/us/
  20. front lip

    Auto Detailing & Body Repairs
I would think black is the most forgiving color. Just get the gloss level you want and don't worry about a direct match. Especially since it is the lip. Or this https://www.amazon.ca/ColorRite-Quart-41522-Automotive-Touch-up/dp/B00GVT94JM
