  1. New (old) Stereo Install

    C900 Workshop
If its not under the rear seat crossmember look for it under the RH front seat. After a closer look at your 2 block connectors it looks like you will actually need to run new rear speaker wire from the rear amp back to the head unit.
  2. New (old) Stereo Install

    C900 Workshop
The block connectors (#1&2) are speakers, switcher power, stereo backlighting and the switch for the power aerial. #3 is the antenna wire to the aerial. #4 is the connector for the rear speaker amp #5&6 are for the optional CD/EQ
  3. b234L crank regrind

    9000 Workshop
No, thats not good. :( If your crankshaft is that bad then your engine block is done. The machine shop will most likely come back to you and tell you that the centerline will need to be rebored and you'll need to run oversized bearings. You're best off looking for a new block to build off of.
  4. 9000 Aero dies then lives; hot then cold

    9000 Workshop
If you're lucky its just a vacuum leak issue.;ol; Who replaced the throttle body for the previous owner? A TCS throttle body is not a simple plug and play replacement. It needs to be programmed/calibrated to the car using a ISAT and/or possibly with a TECH2.
  5. 9000 Aero dies then lives; hot then cold

    9000 Workshop
So,... its not your CPS or fuel pump. Your Aero has TCS which uses a fly by wire for electronic throttle control. The majority of TCS issues are caused by the throttle body itself and some by vacuum leaks. Use the search function to search "TCS" and/or create a new thread. With some diagnostics...
  6. 9000 Aero dies then lives; hot then cold

    9000 Workshop
If an MY93 Aero...do you have TCS?
  7. b234L crank regrind

    9000 Workshop
Was the crankshaft the only thing damaged? Did you figure out what caused the oil starvation to damage the crank? If you trust your machinist there is nothing wrong reground crank and reliability will be the same as before.
  8. Catalytic stay bracket?

    9000 Workshop
I found mine had fractured and broken into pieces a couples years ago. Replaced when I rebuilt my motor. I imagine heat, age, and worn motor mounts contribute to the brackets demise.
  9. HVAC issue redux - Part III

    9000 Workshop
Busy weekend but yes I am keeping tabs on this nonsense and warned him in another thread already
  10. Won't shift into 3rd

    9000 Workshop
Did you align the shift rod at the gearbox? To align the shifter you must align both the shift rod and the shifter.
  11. Wanted: 1989 900 16 Valve Turbo Dizzy

Parts for Sale/Wanted - North America
Pretty sure I have a '89 turbo distributor in my spares somewhere.
  12. Balance Shaft Differences and Interchangebility?

    9000 Workshop
To my knowledge the '94'-'98 9000 balance shafts and sprockets are the same and share the same part #'s as the 9-5's through '09. If you have a B234 block why not just build off of that and ditch the B235 block.
  13. Thermostat vs Thermostat

    9000 Workshop
    There is just one thermostat. Its Saab 30577561 (89*C thermostat). Its is compatible with... '80-'93 c900 2L '85-98 9000 2L & 2.3L '94-'98 ng900 2L & 2.3L '99-'03 9-3 2.3L '99-'09 9-5 2.3L
  14. Clutch pedal only returns ½ way...

    9000 Workshop
Very unlikely. You'll understand after you have fun removing the master cylinder. Its a real PIA, especially if you are taller.
  15. Succession of bad DI cassettes

    9000 Workshop
Not quite. #8 is an empty slot on the ECU connector. You need to add a pin and wire to the #8 slot and feed it through the bulkhead. I followed the main harness that passes through the bulkhead below the windscreen wiper assembly. When the ECU detects knock it with earth/ground pin #8. So the...
  16. Clutch pedal only returns ½ way...

    9000 Workshop
Whats happening at the slave cylinder when the pedal returns half way or doesn't leave the floor? After I replaced my clutch I had problems with the clutch pedal intermittently getting stuck on the floor. Would have to pull over, shut off the car, and pump the pedal a couple times to get...
  17. Succession of bad DI cassettes

    9000 Workshop
    Is this^ Canadian humour?
  18. Succession of bad DI cassettes

    9000 Workshop
If you have a dremel tool...cut the head off the torx screw. This will release all the torque on the screw. Next remove the old cps. If enough of the screw remains you should be able to unthread it by hand or by vice grips. If still a no-go...you'll need a adjustable angle drill drill into...
  19. my ACC issue '98 9000

    9000 Workshop
Why do you have 3 cabin sensors?!:o:lol: In your situation I would be inclined to suspect the solar sensor as well. Its the only thing that makes sense based on the symptoms you've described. Does it match our limited knowledge of how the ACC system interrupts its inputs? No, but logicality it...
  20. my ACC issue '98 9000

    9000 Workshop
The only 2 ACC inputs that I know effect temp control... would be the interior cabin sensor and the mixed air temp sensor (needle probe as part of flapper motor housing)
