I've only done dodge and Mitsubishi timing belts in the past and some had notches on the gears, some didn't, so it was a lot easier then as long as you marked everything properly but that's going back 20yrs or so.

I just went ahead and purchased it from freedom racing tools. Thinking about renting them out cheap to help out any others in need as the tool is expensive and you'll probably only need it once. If you want to rent it let me know, just pm me. And I mean cheap, not looking to profit, just help...

Woohoo!!! Started up, let her run for a little bit. No more misfires or rough idle. Air and fuel deviations are within specs. So far no P0300 code. Drove around for a little bit, runs great. What a relief! Thank you Hus_sho for all your guidance!

The crank pulley definitely moved backwards a little bit, so it's no longer aligned with the timing cover mark. Yes the tensioner did activate, I checked the chain tension before and after I activated it.

Well I finally got the cam tools. Looks like I am off a little bit. Set it to tdc on cyl 1, had the marks in the timing cover and crank pulley lined up. Installed the cam tool, and it is no longer lined up. Also have a lot of slack in between the cam gears.

Like I said before I'm willing to do whatever it takes. I understand completely how hard it is to diagnose remotely. Worked for DMV diagnosing computers remotely. I am truly grateful for your help. Your videos are a great help. I was confident I timed it correctly, I've done over a dozen jobs...

I just watched the video again, how embarrassing, sorry for the confusion man, he doesn't hook it up to the intake manifold it's the vacuum line that goes to the bypass valve at the turbo, to check its diaphragm. So then yes I did it exactly like he did, held at 0.6bar no visible leaks, just the...

Oh, sorry, I meant I didn't connect the smoker to the intake manifold yet like in the video. Only the air hose between the MAF and turbo in which I found no leaks anywhere at 0.6bar, used smoke and soapy water. Still a tiny bit of smoke coming out of that breather on the valve cover.

Oh, I didn't see him block off the throttle body hose. I will do that tomorrow morning.

In the air hose going to the turbo, in the video he also connects it to the intake manifold

Well got it to 0.6bar, held steady, no smoke anywhere, hit it with soap and water where I could reach at least, nothing. I didn't connect it to the intake side like in the video, is 0.6bar ok for that side also?

Hey guys, so after getting 21 inches of snow dumped on us, I finally got a chance to perform a smoke test as shown on the video Hus_sho posted, only difference was my smoker has a pressure regulator that won't let it go above 1psi, in the video he was up towards 5 or 6, maybe I can bypass the...

Cleared dtc's, reset misfire and knock count, plugs and coils new OEM, timing double checked, smoke tested the air hose between maf and turbo haven't had time to do the rest, spark plug holes clean, some black soot on the plug surface nothing abnormal though, will let it idle for a while and...

Installed new maf, still misfiring mostly in cyl. 3 and 4. Does it need time to adjust?
