  1. Cup Holder and Ashtray Delete - Sourcing/options

    NG900 & OG9-3 Workshop
Thanks. I didn't know the part numbers for the ashtray delete. 60 GBP is a bit steep I agree. Esaab's price is basically $10 USD but zero stock I assume.
  2. Upper Strut Bar - Significant Difference?

    NG900 & OG9-3 Workshop
I think this is the web link you need for reference Bob. https://a-zperformance.com/categories/saab-performance-braces-982.html The website says they are based in Hungary, but there could be a UK production site as well. I'm not sure. I also recall a very good article from GS about this also...
  3. Cup Holder and Ashtray Delete - Sourcing/options

    NG900 & OG9-3 Workshop
Hi All, 1. I have an ashtray in my 9-3 that has lost its will to remain closed. I keep pulling it out - and refitting the guide pin, but basically it's annoying. I don't use the ashtray - so I want to fit a storage space there (eg the ashtray delete). I've seem versions with this - are they...

Saaber23 - I would also confirm that you have the latest PCV kit #6 installed. If you don't then I would action that asap. There are several ways to confirm you have the right kit installed. I think Bob posted a picture before with the hoses you need. There is also a you-tube clip here: Trionic...
  5. WATER LEAKING INTO TRUNK with pics.

I think there is also drain tube associated with the radio antennae for Hatch-backs that could also be a source as well. You might want to look at that - when you have everything removed (if it applies in your case).

Having recently done some vacuum lines - there is a sensor plug near the fire wall at the rear - That I had to unplug to get get to the 'T' section in the lines. I missed that plug sensor - however it gave me a P16... something code. But you said it wasn't giving you any codes? Brake booster...
  7. What is this piece?

    NG900 & OG9-3 Workshop
I would suggest part numbers would be: 4365128 or 4365110 - based on a 9-3. It's items 37 and 39 on the AC condensor page in the EPC. I'm happy to be corrected!
  8. What is this piece?

    NG900 & OG9-3 Workshop
I had a look this evening - and can I suggest it's possibly the clamp on the RHS, between the battery and the aircon pipes, just behind the headlight infrastructure, and next to the radiator. It appears to be on the pipes associated with the Aircon. My 5 cents (rounded) worth.
  9. OG 9-3 AERO B205R Low Boost Problems

    NG900 & OG9-3 Workshop
Hi Wulff, There could be a number of reasons why you are getting limited boost. Is your 9-3 Aero a manual or AT? Remember you only get limited boost in 1st and 2nd. It would be a good idea to check your vacuum lines, and if you have an ODB2 reader check for any error codes. Failing that - There...
  10. Most applicable manual (book) for 2001 9-3?

    NG900 & OG9-3 Workshop
Great stuff. Good to see another Aussie with the SAAB bug. Hope you dropped the pan - when you did the PCV. It gives you a little more confidence to know its been done - if you did. Good work on the changes so far. Keep us posted.
  11. Most applicable manual (book) for 2001 9-3?

    NG900 & OG9-3 Workshop
There is a Haynes Manual for a 98 - 02 9-3 Series that will cover your B205R, however the best resource is the WIS and EPC - which you can download here on SC. The EPC is the parts catalog. The WIS is the Workshop information. You use both together, and consult here as well. the Haynes link is...

  13. Air-con (ACC) advice

    NG900 & OG9-3 Workshop
Hi all, I have a 2000 9-3 Aero. Under normal conditions my air-con works well, however recently during extreme heat it dies after about 45 mins and only leaves me with a fan. This occurs after the first 'start up for the day'. The cabin sensor was screaming - so I did remove and clean it /...
  14. Headlight

    NG900 & OG9-3 Workshop
I would also check the 10A fuse for your main beam as well. I had a similar issue with my 2000 9-3. when you get that SID warning - first check your fuse, wiggle the orange relay. You can then go from there -if you need to fix a bulb etc. here is a link for the relay if you want to grab a...
  15. Observations at 100k miles / 160k km - what to look for

    NG900 & OG9-3 Workshop
    1. The Pan was dropped and cleaned when the #6 kit was installed. That was approx 6 years ago / 50,000km. Its had regular oil changes - with high spec oil (normally Mobil 1). 2. Yes I have the heater tap. The heater hoses are the remaining ones to be updated/refreshed however at the moment they...

    NG900 & OG9-3 Workshop
Thanks EdT. I used to live in NZ, so that comment was valid. As there were not many 2000 Hardtops here in Aust with low Kms I brought mine back with me. Thanks for the info, epecially re the Starter. My Battery is good. Yes it is hot here at the moment.
  17. Observations at 100k miles / 160k km - what to look for

    NG900 & OG9-3 Workshop
Hi all, My 2000 9-3 Aero (B205R) auto - is just about to click over 100k miles. It doesn't do a lot of miles at the moment, but I'll be taking out for a Holiday road trip soon. It gets regular oil changes (each year or 5 - 8k km distance). The suspension, radiator, water pump and (most) coolant...
  18. The pain in the **** that is insurance

    NG900 & OG9-3 Workshop
Good to hear you are ok. Insurance for Cars in Aust & NZ does take a bit of negotiation - so I understand even though your based in Europe. I worked out the value based on the 'Red Book' (aka Carfax) and started from there because I knew that market value doesn't cut it. So I then set my agreed...

  20. Head Gasket job, what's needed.

    NG900 & OG9-3 Workshop
Having met some nice & sometimes strict roadworthy and customs inspectors in the ACT, QLD, and prior to that NZ - with my 9-3, Astra and Forester, I understand your concern. However The inspectors are probably more worried about the oil leak and the potential fire it can cause than your head...
