OK, my typing is weak. Cut some fingers off on the table saw last year and have difficulty now. It should read:

Sparky you appear to be the resident expert on 3.0 9-5s. I am trading out a 2000 bent valve engine for a 2002 non bent valve model. The 2002 has a stainless steel tube attached to the exhaust manifold both front and rear that is not on the 2000. The gorilla at the junk yard cut (torch) the rear manifold loose above the coupling on the 2002 motor. I can modify the 2000 to accept the ss tubes but they appear to go nowhere. What is there purpose? It appears they either heat air or cool exhaust manifold. Do I need them?

    thanks

The gorilla at the junk yard cut the rear manifold loose above the coupling on the 3003 motor. I cannot use the manifold on the 2000.
