Default Amp installation: can I drill here in the trunk?

Hi all,

I'm upgrading the sound system in my 2003 9-5 Aero wagon. There's so much room in this car! I yanked out the SAAB Park Assist control units, and now I have this relatively flat area between the rear seats and the depression for the spare tire where I'd like to mount my two amps. See the attached image. I like the idea that they'd be sitting on the frame of the car for a bit of a heat sink effect.

Am I going to hit anything critical if I penetrate this surface by about 3/8"-1/2" (9mm -12mm)? I think the fuel tank is further forward under the rear seats, correct?

Thanks for any input!

You do not hit anything critical if you use 9-12 mm penetrating screws.
Sorry, but I am not mind reader, so I just answer questions.

You should first check how warm it gets back there from the exhaust (I assume the parking assist module generates little heat on its own). Also, I'm never keen on drilling holes in the floor, because they can leak.
