Default Ceramic Coating....3.0

Just got done my buddies car with version 3.0. I used 2.0 last year and 3.0 seems to be glossier.

Based on the original CQUartz, CQuartz UK was developed in the United Kingdom for use in cold, damp climates where most ceramic coatings typically struggle. A new fast flashing carrier was used in this version 3.0 to enhance curing in difficult conditions. Also, the silica-quartz content was increased to 70% which creates and even harder and purer glass layer. These enhancements allow CQ UK 3.0 to be easily applied in temperatures as low as 37 degrees Fahrenheit (3 degrees Celsius). CQUK 3.0 has improved gloss, water behaviour and chemical resistance (pH 3 to 14). It offers incredible resistance to chemicals, salt, and environmental damage, and provides excellent UV protection. It’s a simple wipe on, wipe off application. It can be buffed of levelled immediately, or left on for a few minutes and it will still buff off easily. No sticky surface or grabby wipe off! It can be applied to paint, metal, plastics and more. Real world durability is said to be 18 to 24 months. Two coats are recommended. Keep the car dry at least 24 hours after application. Avoid detergents and chemicals for at least 5 days after application. Once applied, CarPro Reload and CarPro Reset are perfect for maintenance washes. Do not apply in direct sunlight or on hot surface. Do not re-use the suede applicators. DO NOT re-use the towels you used to buff off the product on paint. Wear gloves and respiratory protection such as a painter’s mask while working.

As always you'll want to wash, clay and alcohol wipe down your vehicle before applying

Not possible, God always makes it rain after you detail your car.

How do you remove this stuff when it's time to paint or re-polish, etc?

What you can do instead of keeping it dry is to polish»ceramic coat» let cure for a couple hours» then toss on a silica spray sealant. This is nessecary because for the first week the car will be very prone to water spotting, so you’ll need something to avoid that. The other option is to just not get it wet for a week, but that’s almost impossible for a daily.
To remove it you’d need to either use a mild compound or a polish. I should know because I ceramic coated mine at 1am and didn’t buff off one of my doors. I used m105 to take it off, which was completely overkill. Let me know if you have any more questions.

Thanks.

What do you like for a " silica spray sealant"?

"Ceramic coatings" are not hard at all. These are literally a single-molecule layer, designed to reject contaminants, not to protect from abrasives. So you just polish it as usually. Sealants and waxes is what can mess with a polishing. Most of them can be removed with IPA though.
