Default Automatic Transmission Fluid Temperature

Does anyone have a way to determine ATF Temp

Just changed mine on Aisin Warner six speed

Put in about 3.5 qts

Concerned that I put the right amount in

So I would like to find out temperature of fluid so that I donít overheat?

You could try an infrared temperature gun.

Take the temp of the fluid thru the fill hole? Take temp of surface of the exterior body? I was thinking of getting one of those for the cat anyway. Getting P0420 for a while now. Thanks for the idea.

Does anyone have a way to use the iPhone and an OBD reader to monitor stuff like this?
Thanks for any info.

When I was measuring it with an IR thermometer, the hottest reading at the bottom of the transmission pan was very close to what tech2 was reporting. It was in some recess if I remember it correctly. Just make sure you do a thorough scan initially, as the temperature varies significantly across the pan.

Late reply. But you could also get esid. It displays the temperature of the transmission fluid.
