Default Airbag recall affecting Saabs

Just read this article online. I wonder when they will release what models and what years the recall affects:

Watch as it's maybe a bad batch of NG 9-3s and the 9-4x. I don't remember seeing the OG 9-3s or any of the 9-5s on the big list showing who bought from Takata.

The NHTSA List was last updated 12/23/2015. This story broke on 01/22/2016. Further additions to the list will therefore occur as a result of this news.

I read in another article that some of the additional 5,000,000 vehicles affected will be repeat offenders that were recalled originally for the passenger side airbag that are now being called in again for the driver side.

Do you have a link to that? My wife's 9-5 has an Autoliv airbag, not a Takata, and the 9-3 airbag I have in my NG900 is also an Autoliv.

That sucks! I'm glad that both of our cars were made before 2003.

GM spokesman Tom Wilkinson said the Jan. 22 expansion "is expected to include approximately 110,000 Saab 9-3 and 9-5 vehicles" for driver-side airbag inflators in cars sold here from 2003 to 2011. (GM owned Saab until 2010.)

Yeah some of you are not following this right. The previous update just had the 9-2X but this very recent one may well include the 2003+ 9-3's and 9-5's.

Not Good.

It looks like 2003-2005 9-5s are out of this, we do not use Takata airbags.

Not Good.
Aside from Saabohème's comment all others were posted before the list of affected models were released.

Out of 5,000,000 vehicles in the new recall the number of Saabs (110,000) seems fairly low to me for a recall affecting 2 models across 9 years.

What does that matter??? The 5,000,000 is irrelevant, all that matters is that it appears as though we are going to hear an announcement that roughly half the post 2003 9-3's and 9-5's need the recall done.
