Unhappy The END of SAAB brand

It is finally, and conclusively, confirmed by NEVS' chairman Kai Johan Jiang himself:

http://www.saabsunited.com/2016/01/n...new-brand.html

RIP, SAAB. You gave the world inspiration, hope, excitement and innovation. We are here at SC because of you and your enduring spirit.

Long live the SAAB spirit.

How about they call the new company

AERO

I'm sure they will pay crazy $ to some company to figure out what works best.

This pretty much says it all:

Our sources at SAAB AB have for a long time made it very clear to us that SAAB is a defense and technology brand, not a car brand.
The lease on the brand ran out.

I'm neither sad, nor disappointed. Saab died when Spyker's ownership failed. I'd have bet my life savings on NEVS failing.

I truly wish the name would've died after the Spyker failure.

Name was dead when Spyker failed....just no one told it to lie down and be still. Well now it finally has. We have the last of SAAB in our driveways and garages.....

+1

NEVS has done nothing but burn the suppliers yet again. I made my peace in 2012. And then bought a '72 Sonett.

The "final" UrSaab (not its prototypes) was shown to the automotive press on June 10, 1947. 69 years ago .......

Certainly a good time to buy a classic 900. In Australia a runner's worth about $50!

Sadly I think SAAB as a vehicle brand has been dead for a while - but hopefully the DNA will live on.
