because my english isn't the best I hope that I can reply reply to all your questions so that anybody can understand what I mean

with 19" the steering feels more directly. you get a lot of more feedback from the road. positive: the car do not follow ruts as agressive as before. negative: the driving noise increases because of the lowered damping.

the overall ride comfort is fairly hard and "bumping". but this is the result of the combination of 19" and 45mm lowering-springs. I wouldn't recommend 45mm lowering-springs on stock dampers. the pre-tension of the spring isn't enough so that I got several annoying "klock-klock"-sounds

the stock tyres were 225/45R17 pirelli p zero rosso on 7x17". compared to this the ride comfort of the 235/35R19 is nearly the same. I choose the taiwanese nankang because they are fairly soft. The pirellis are very hard so that the higher edge of these stock tyres is compensated by their hardness. this is the reason why the comfort is nearly equal. additionally the tread is nearly the same.

but there is another problem: the weight of the new wheels. OZ Ultraleggera, BBS CH and other high-quality-rims are lighter then these "no-name-rims". Because of this the acceleration decreases and braking suffers under the higher inertia. I bought these rims on ebay for 600 euros, but I don't think that the manufacturer ( http://www.mamfelgen.de ) has a distribution in the usa. for the nankang tires I paid 560 euros.

btw: these dimensions (8.5x19 offset 30 mm 235/35R19) are the highest you can drive without modifications. Tests with additional wheel spacers of 5 mm result in rubbing at the wheel housing. within the wheel housing you have a plastic cover with a small bump where the tire rubs. I planned to cut this of but under this bump there is weldseam of the rear mudguard and the rear bumper is mounted there. modifying this will be a lot of work....

(I will post a picture soon)

pelle, that is a beautiful setup...don't think I really have the money right now for those rims though

...is anyone good with photoshop? I wonder how those BBS rims would like in either black or anthracite on a black SS

Hmm I'm a big fan of large, thick 5 spoke'd rims. Anybody know some fairly good ones for pretty cheap? The 'official' Saab ones run $205 I think.

Well I changed my order to something tire rack had in stock. I got the 18" ASA AR2's. Does anyone have these, and if so some pictures would be nice.

I ordered the car with these 18" wheels and Pirelli P-Zero tires. For the winter I have the 17" anniversary wheels with michelin X-Ice tires.
