A B5 Audi would be very nice indeed. I did hear they have quite the assortment of problems.

I'm down to choosing between an 08 M3 sedan or 2008 Lexus IS-F

I've pretty much decided on an Audi A4 Allroad when it shows up this summer.

The problem i have is i refuse to buy a sedan, they make zero sense to me. So looking for a wagon is quite the battle in north america.

Before i bought my combi i had this list .....

Subaru Outback (bland interior, need the GT model to get the better engine etc and that gets crazy expensive)
Mazda 6 (again need the GT model but still very well priced, looks a bit drab though)
Audi A4 (VW group reliability and expensive)
Passat (VW group reliability and expensive)
Jetta/Golf (VW group reliability and expensive)
Volvo V50 (Bit too small and crazy pricing, need T5 model to match base Saab engine)
BMW 3 Series (crazy expensive and looks like a bashed crab)

So yeah ... there' snot much considering Mazda dropped the wagon in 2007 in think.

Well, since my 93 might get totaled out...I'm seriously looking at an '08 Subaru Legacy R Limited. Not a turbo, but can live with that.

Alright let's talk Legacy. 70,000 Km and they ask $24K for a 2008. For 5K less you can get an 08 AERO with 40,000 KM.

I have a feeling that Audi's have too many issues with oil burning and electrical gremlins..

I would kill for a B5 Audi S4. My buddy had one though, and there is just too many things wrong with it. So probably not.

And one company is known for their AWD systems AND is still in business, while the other is known more for producing "quirky" cars, at least when they were actually producing cars...sounds like a no-brainer to me...

I'd agree with you there. I like driving my daughter's '99 Outback, even with the automatic. Feels solid (the hood is VERY heavy!), plenty of ground clearance for the AWD, lots of room, etc.

But if I had to replace my c900, something like a bug-eyed Impreza WRX wagon from the early 2000's would be on my short list. But more compact than the Outback, but with the WRX package and manual transmission, I'm sure it would be an entertaining ride!

Subaru used to be a bit quirky but they've become more mainstream. I prefer the older Impreza, Legacy and Outback styles but the cars are still great...plus you get to support the "little guy" if that matters to you

But their engines are thirsty and make the same power they did 10 years ago. Their interiors are cheaper than hyundai or Kia and their styling is a mess. Their gearboxes are also 5 to 10 years behind the times.

When they released the WRX and the outback they were well ahead of the game but they are still in the same spot.

im sorry but 280BHP from a 2.0 turbo is good enough now, let alone 10 years ago, Saab only run 250BHP from 2.3's??

as for interiors , yes they arent BMW quality but they are good enough, I had a Forester turbo a few years back and it was one of the best cars ive ever had (a lot better than the current Saab)
