Default HELP! Electrical gremlin draining battery '91 900SE

Last night my '91 900SE stranded me again for what might be the last time with a dead battery. Something is intermittently draining the battery, but with no rhyme or reason that is discernable to me, or two shops that have checked it out.

I have owned the car for about 2.5 years, and within that time I have found the battery discharged about eight or nine times. It has periodically gone for 6-8 months at a time without any trouble, setting my mind at ease only to strand me somewhere not long after.

Two different mechanics say there is no detectable voltage drop. I have replaced the battery twice. Has anyone else experienced this? It sounds too hard to diagnose to me, but I was hoping someone could point out something that has been overlooked.

Thanks- Jon

If the drain is intermittent, is it reasonable to assume the problem wasn't manifesting when the shop(s) checked it? Are you sure it's a drain issue versus a charging issue?

My problem was that the brake lights were staying on (and I just didn't notice). It seems to be a fairly common issue. The problem is that my brake pedal doesn't fully return to hit the switch (haven't fixed it yet, but never really drive the car. I just make sure I pull up on brake pedal after every shift and when I park).
