Can I nick a bit of that popcorn? Cheers.

That wording works just fine for me, too - with one little caveat. Selling advertising on the site (and let's remember that Paul & Simon had the odd ad here for years) could easily be deemed to be "profit(ting) from" the content.

She just had that snippet at hand and pasted it. It's a standard T&C that VerticalScope uses for all their sites.

http://www.verticalscope.com/aboutus...aabcentral.com

Some sharp-eyed folks on their own road discovered that you can have some fun and change the URL a bit http://www.verticalscope.com/aboutus...=poopyhead.com

Just switch the part between the equal sign and the .com. Hours of enjoyment....

I would most certainly decline to agree for anything I post to be used commercially.

I do not permit Saabcentral.com, any affiliate or anyone viewing material I have posted to the site to commercially use, charge for, or in any other way profit from any of my posts or linked images.

I authorize saabcentral.com to use anything I post on these forums for noncommercial purposes benefiting the Saab community only. That should be the end of it.
I would happily agree to the above.

I also have no problem with the owners of the site using the site for "limited advertising" after all they need to make a $$.

We have been in contact with our lawyers and they are going to be sending us a new draft this week to go over.

I just ran across this thread.
I don't use a made-up name. You say you get to use my name.
I don't object to having my name attached to things I wrote, but beyond that, what do you get to do with my name? Endorse products or services?

No the name is only used on the site, it gives us the right to have that content up on the site.

As a new member, I'd like to know what the T&C's will be before I start contributing some work... any update on this?

We have been going back and forth with our lawyer, just trying to get the wording down right. Should be out shortly according to my sources.

Nothing wrong with advertising in good taste and usefulness. This, I wish others would learn, most advertising is repugnant and obnoxious.

The advertisements, of the last 5 minutes are in anything but "good taste"; but no one ever accused "Madison Avenue" of having "intellect" or sensitivity.
I'd say this is a good way to wreck a forum for those who have not logged in.
Madison Avenue was, at one time, the home of commercials, for those who know not.

I never see the site without logging in, so I can not comment on that part of the site.

Well? There is no way that it takes this long to come up with some T&C's for a online forum. Stop feeding us bull**** and give us the terms to use your site... not that it matters for me anyways. I've found another place to get help with my car.

I've come back, hoping there would be some terms and conditions I could agree to... when can we see them?

WE had a new T&C and if was ignored for a while. We asked what the issue was with the T&C; we even explained what the T&C stood for. The t&C is there to legally protect us, not to screw a community. If you look at our history on our sites and our history on this forum all the things you were suggesting would happen, have not and did not.

I am closing this thread for 2 reasons

1. The site has been fine up until now, and member concerns have been addressed. And if members have a concern about the site and how it is functioned they have told myself and the mods and we have tried our hardest to address them.

2. We can have a new T&C for you but I have a feeling that nothing we change will make the members complaining about it happy. If you have a legitimate concern with a section of the T&C please highlight it and send me a PM with your concern so I can go through them individually. I will not accept a generic statement of discontent. There is no way to fix something without proper direction; a general dislike for something gets us nowhere.
So again please PM me the highlighted portion of the T&C you dislike and an explanation of why.

I will be discussing this to the mods and we will come up with something to show to the community

Thank you for bringing this to light, and i hope that if any one else has a concern with the site they can PM me and i will be more then happy to address this.
