Default Nav-Tool Group Buy

Some folks from the 9-4X group worked out a group buy with NavTool to get the mirroring unit (the most expensive one), for $400/ea.

Required group size is 10. Would anyone be interested in joining in as the same NavTool part works on both the 9-5, and the 9-4X.
Your 9-5 must be equipped with navigation for this to work.

Looking forward to hearing back!!

Been trying to get back to this all day!!

Navtool is a company that developed an interface box for cars equipped with touchscreens that don’t have phone interfacing capability. It adds Carplay and I think Android Auto to our cars. You disconnect the cable for the touchscreen, plug it into the box, plug the box into the screen and it all operates normally, except, you can select phone mirroring, and the interface box overrides the H/U video output and puts AA/CarPlay on the display.

It also allows you to add 4 other camera inputs if you feel inspired to plop cameras in your mirrors, grille, etc. Not something I would do, but the option is there I guess.

They have a website, if you google Navtool you should see it pretty quickly.

I installed an AVIC 8200NEX in my 9-3 and love CarPlay. Whenever I get in my 9-4X (same audio/video application for 9-5) I miss all the capability.

That's great! We're at six people right now. I'd love to have this extra integration in my 9-4X, and I'm sure a lot of other people would take advantage of it as well.

Now that I've become used to having Carplay, it's difficult to do without.

I assume there is still the ability to switch back to the HU video output and use it as normal?

I've never used one in person, but my understanding is that you can use the HU normally, but if you want Carplay, or the other video inputs, the interface essentially hijacks the screen, until you switch back to radio/nav/etc.

Count me in for the group buy! I've been waiting for a while to get the Android Auto version of their box but their price was too much. Let me know when/how to order

So, we're at seven total right now. I'm hoping we can pick up a few more, but given how long it's been, I don't think its going to happen.

How much will it cost? And is it hard to install? Depending on both of those I might be in 😅. I ask cuz I just got my truck back from shop (hit a deer) and had to put in about $600 into my 9-5 🙁. But if it takes some time to acquire this I’ll be more willing since it’ll give me time to save up.

Your 9-5 must be equipped with navigation for this to work.

Looking forward to hearing back!!
Hi, I've 9-4x. Full equipped with multimedia too on back seats. My Problem, car is made for Canada.

Country Code is US, i tried to find a way to Change it. So i can only use Navigation DVD for Code US. Or DVD for Multimedia too.

So I have no Navigation and FM Radio is **** too, because the Sender are in different range and no RDS is working. I have to Change channels all the time.

If this works with IPhone Carplay, i am able to use Navigation over this. Maybe i can use FM or digital Radio channels too? Do you think, i can use it also to stream Videos to the back seat Entertainment?

Please answer me. Then i think, i have Minimum me or some more guys here in europe to be interested in this System.

Kind regards
Joe
