Well boys and girls, its that time of year again! I wanna get all the local Saab people together for a meet again this year. Last year was a small group but maybe we can have some more this time! As always the location is far big enough to accomodate 30+ cars and there are plenty of picnic tables and little grills if you so choose. The event is BYOB but there are plenty of local places to grab something just before the meet location.

Please keep in mind, this is a public park with a small petting zoo. There will be families and children. The utmost maturity and respect is expected when travelling through the park and when in the parking lot. This borders quiet neighborhoods which do not appreciate revving engines or burn outs. If you do anything of the sort you will be asked to leave as not to jeopardize the enjoyment of the meet.

Also if there is interest maybe dinner at Red Robin in Patriots Place at Gillette Stadium, just a short trip north on Route 1. Great burgers, fries, and beer!

Patriot Place - Shop. Dine. Enjoy. - There is something for everyone at Patriot Place (http://www.patriot-place.com/RedRobin.aspx)

Would be best if somebody else could pick this up - but if not, any and all are welcome to cruise out to my house in Westminster, Ma. that afternoon. I have a house with a private beach on Wyman Lake. Kayaks, fire pit, dock, sandy beach great for swimming. Big deck at the house with grill & hot tub. We could also do a cruise up the Mt. Wachusett summit road. Several of us did a dry run in our vintage Saabs last fall. Great drive and super views. Let me know and I'll give directions. But like I said - if people still want to follow the original plan that's cool too.

Since original host Casey had something come up I've volunteered to host this event. Made a few changes based on input from a few people. Same day and approximate time but new location. I'm inviting any and all (friends are welcome) to meet at my house / beach at 4 Genesee Ave in Westminster, Ma for the afternoon (1:00 on). We can hang out at our private lakeside beach, swim, kayak, hot tub, & grill and will likely finish up with a 25-30 mile cruise thru some of the backroads of the Worcester Hills, culminating in a run to the top of Mt. Wachusett ($2.00 fee). BYOB and something to throw on the grill. Bring a change of clothes, towel if you plan to swim. As for directions - Google/Mapquest the address for directions. Despite being down a 1/2 mile private dirt road ("Lakewood Park - Private") it should show up on your GPS. It's about an hour west of Boston and 30 minutes north of Worcester. Helpful but not 100% essential if you could post here or PM me if you plan on attending.

And if other folks still want to meet at the original location that's fine too. This just seemed the easier alterntive with short notice. Just get out and enjoy your Saabs!

Just bumping this to the top as the weekend is fast approaching. Looks like we have about 20 cars / people showing strong interest in Sunday's Beach Party and Cruise in North Central Massachusetts (1:00 till ?). Would love to see a few more additions. So if you don't have any better plans come on out with family/friends and enjoy a few hours of swimming / kayaking / grilling and hangining out with fellow Saab aficianodos. Please BYOB and something to throw on the grill. To be followed by an hour or so cruise thru the Worcester Hills finishing with a run to the top of Mt. Wachusett. Supposed to be a nice weekend - but should it rain we have some alternate plans.

Just Mapquest 4 Genesee Ave in Westminster for the meet location. It is down a 1/2 mile private dirt road ("Lakewood Park") in a funky summer cottage community so don't worry that you missed a turn.
