Hello
I hope you can help me. I have tried to solve this problem since i bought the car for 7 years ago.
I have fixed almost everything myself, change transmission (twice), cylindergasket, electrical failiure, brakes, etc. But this problem I don't know. the car is a 1987 900 b201 with mechanical Bosch injections and lamda (catalytic). Sometimes (often now) the car starts on only 3 cylinders. If the motor is cold (after a night) and the weather is cold, it starts good most of the times. But if you start the engine when "half" hot after about 4 h or a warm day (cold engine) it starts on 3 cylinders. If you keep the motor running for up to 1-2 minutes you can hear to motor starting to begin fire on the cylinder and after that the car runs perfect. it is cyl 4. When going on 3 cylinders, I turn it of and looked at the sparkplug, wet of petrol. I thougt, no spark, but there was (took a another sparkplug to GND). I have changed out, sparkplugs several times, high voltage cables, distrubutor and so on. I also have looked at the injectors "spray" picture that looked normal (forced the fuelrelay to go). Could it be a valve or low compression?
Pleas help me /Magnus Svensson, Sweden |

| I would check compressions. You may have a crack internally on the head. If OK may be worth lifting the head and inspecting the cylinder block surface just in case you have damage causing loss of compresssion | |
