9000s Misfire

Classic 9000, 1990, submitted by Matthew Wiltshire
Question: Help. I'm having a problem with a Saab 9000s. It developed a misfire and it's getting worse. It feels like the car is running on 3 cylinders. It is definately electrical as the car is dual fuel and the problem occurs on both LPG and petrol (worse on LPG as expected) The car is a 1990 model with the ignition sytem between the old hall effect system and the DI system. The distributor contains only a rotor arm and not much else. I have changed most ignition components including the leads, plugs, coil, distributor cap and rotor arm with no effect whatsoever. Many thanks Matt Wiltshire

Matthew, is your misfire constant? If so I would check the compressions, to see if you have burnt a valve, and also check for a head gasket leak (see archives).Lindsay.
