Check Oil Level

Details:

Classic 9000, 1986, submitted by Tim
Question: On dash "Check oil level" light came on and won't go out. I check oil level and I put in two extra pints just to be safe (I was two hours ride from home). During the ride there (over a friend house) the light never came on. Only when we left to return home (from starting the car on) did we see that check oil level light. Oil float sensor was replaced 7 months ago. Oil level now over filled. I do have an oil leak (for 2 years now) never had this problem. Any advice would help. Thanking you in advance Tim

Tim, the oil level sensors are very unreliable, always use the dipstick to check the level. try changing the sensor or disconnect it! Lindsay.
