Question my car rocks... and it won't stop -- Help!

I was driving down the road today, and when I decided to change the station... it didn't work. I was worried that it was a problem with my steering wheel controls. But then I tried the buttons on the radio... nothing. I can't change the station, volume, band, balance... nothing. And it won't turn off! I happened to be listening to a classic rock station... so the car just keeps on rockin'. I tried turning the car on and off a couple times, taking the key out, opening and closing the door. I went to a store, came back out... the radio was still on... started the car drove home... the radio is still on.

I was going to start pulling some fuses to see if that would reset it (there's no ctrl-alt-del on this thing), but thought I should try to get some advice first.

Thanks in advance...

Might as well try pulling the fuse for the radio and let it sit for a few minutes to reset. Be sure you have the anti-theft code before you do this, though.

Does his version of radio even have anti-theft codes to put in? I believe his radio is just married to the system, so no code needed.

Maybe the radio just wants to groove a bit. No new age or pop, after all SAABs are in a class all to themselves.

I would give a try to resetting it with the fuse pulling. It may be a short that is preventing any other signals from reaching the radio control though.

Good luck.... and keep on rockin'.

Default pulled the plug... but why did it work?

Ok, so I pulled fuse 13 and the radio went off. I turned the car on and off a couple times and it seems to be working ok.
So, any ideas on root cause or whether I should expect this to happen again?

That is one wierd radio! and likes classic rock. Reminds me of the movie Christine

I have a hunch you'll need a new radio Start with checking if all 3 fuses are ok
