All my friends say saab sucks, so i thought i'd try a honda motor. Didn't work so well, eh?

You should ask them to repeat themselves as you pass by them and leave em the dust A well tuned saab with a decent turbo is hard to beat on the highway! I have a 234r motor in my ng900 with gt3071 and I have a hard time finding anything that can run with me on the highway and that includes motorcycles Nothing better than pulling on a bike on the highway, the looks on their faces is priceless

so, turns out i was right when i was arguing with my mate about the sound. Turns out it wasn't the connecting rod, as i explained to him they're made from a special compound of moon titanium and defeated gods. He insisted it was that, i said rod bearing. I win . this bids slightly more positive for me than a bent rod, though i have 4spares :/ i don't know if you can really tell in the pics, but the CS isn't TOO badly scored, what do you guys think. Does it need to be remachined?

It depends on what bikes you are talking about ( I don't class H***eys as bikes). Certainly neither of mine get bettered by cars - I'd sell them if they did .

That's one ugly looking crank. It won't last long (actually, at all) without machining. I would look for a new (used) one.

If the bottom end rod bearing was really in that condition I suspect the rod is finished too. Look for signs of heat and if honing criss-cross pattern is not visible any more on the inner surface of the rod bottom end you can throw it to your nearest metal recycling can.
