Hi
Having read all the pages on the new 95 that are available. Two questions are still in my mind. When is this car actually due out( is it 08 or 09) and how soon after that will the Aero model be released? Does anyone have any hard facts. Mike |

Nobody has any "hard facts". From everything we've read it appears the next-gen 9-5 will come out in late 2008 as a MY2009 vehicle. I don't see why (judging from SAAB's past) they wouldn't have the Aero model introduction coinciding with the base model. I know sometimes the 'vert comes out later, but I think the Aero has always been out at the same time as the base model.
I don't think SAAB wants to show their hand in advance and hurt '07 and '08 sales. A lot of people might pass on buying an '07 or '08 model if they knew they could hold-out for the '09. |

Hi Gripen
Many thanks for the reply. I am holding out for the new model to replace my current Aero estate. Apart from it is running like a bomb ( it is 4 years old) I dont like the Mad Max styling they have done on the facelifted 95. I did original read that Saab werent going to make an estate in the new model but i believe that is untrue. Mike |

I think Dame Edna had a role in the facelift

Hi Gripen
Excuse my ignorance on this one but what is a Sports Combi? It is also my opinion that if Saab dont make an Estate version of the New 95 then they will be committing commercial suicide. Mike Last edited by Madmickey; 23-03-07 at 07:29 PM. |

SportCombi is the estate/wagon in Saab-speak.
See: http://www.saab.com/main/GLOBAL/en/index_flash.shtml UK site still shows saloon & estate. http://www.saab.co.uk/main/GB/en/index.html Quote:

Hi
As long as they make the damn thing I am happy to call it whatever they like. If they could also include on my wish list. 4 wheel drive 300 BHP Active suspension Heads up display A traction control that actually works. And the capability to run on Ethanol I will be a happy bunny Mike |

The straight-on shot of the 9-5 doesn't look half bad. I still don't like the chrome accents around the headlights though.
It seems like European cars look so much better with European plates. The AUDI front ends look absolutely wrong with North American plates due to the fact that the shape of the grille was broken-up to fit the European plate. I noticed in Mexico you can get a North American shape rear plate and a European front one. I wish California would offer that. |

I hate those chrome "spectacles" around the headlights on the 9-5. Not only are they hideous and tacky, but they also draw your eye away from the parts of the car that look good (at least for me).

Horrible... just horrible
The older one 95 maybe the best looking Saab. If i had the money i would buy one and sell my 900. |

I never liked how the facelifted 9-5 looked at all until I saw it in person. I saw it drive by me on the highway going the opposite direction and I thought "hmm, maybe it isn't ugly after all?" Then, while I was waiting at the SAAB dealer for my spare key today, I spent a good long time looking around the black one in the show room and I now find it rather good looking.
