Question Manual Transmission Oil Change? SAAB 93 2004

I have a 2004 93 and I was surprised to learn that the oil in the transmission/clutch does not need changing. Does this result in the clutch or transmission wearing out prematurely? I always did this on my previous cars, so is it just a matter of newer technology?

That, better lubricants and finally to keep quick-oil chumps from accidentally draining the tranny.
