Default 2007 Aero SportCombi

I am new to this forum and I am currently looking into a Sportcombi Aero. I currently drive a Volvo S40 T5 and my fiance has the Saab 9-2X. My question is I have no availablity in the Ohio area to any of the leftover 06's so I am concerned about paying pretty close to full price for a car I know will be heavily discounted at some point this year. Does anybody know when Saab tends to start getting aggressive on the incentives? I know when we bought her 9-2X it was around July but that was 2005 when they had the big incentives.

Welcome to the forum Newtfox. November/December of this year saw the most agressive discounting. The cars for the new model year are usually arriving at the dealer in September so the best discounts started a couple months after that.

I have only been following Saab for a year now so I don't know how it was for previous years. Rumor has it the 9-3 will have refreshed styling for 2008 so maybe the discounting will start earlier? It's hard to predict the future.

Second, I found this on Trollhattan Saab, http://www.trollhattansaab.net/, he usually has very reliable sources.
Saab 5 year product plan 2008 - New Aero diesel with twin sequential turbo chargers with similar
performance to V6 petrol.

2009 - New 9-5 Saloon similar size to A6 with 4 wheel drive.

2009 - 9-4X SUV a similar size to BMW X5 but lower.

2010 - New 9-5 Estate

2011 - New 9-3 Saloon

2012 - New 9-3 Sportwagon & Convertible, will be neither a conventional
soft-top or a retractable hard top, something new.

2012 - New 9-1 a smaller model to create a style icon for the Saab brand.

All of these models have been signed off by GM and are guaranteed
production.

So 2008 doesn't appear to be the "Magical" year where we will see a new 9-3.

You're correct there won't be a new 9-3 in 2008 but they expect Saab to refresh the styling, something like a mid-model makeover. Reports on TS show the front-end could end up looking like the Aero-X mated with the latest 9-5.

I hope that they will not make the front of the 9-3 as ugly as the 9-5 in 2008 because that will kill the bread and butter of Saab! If someone is listening, don't make it as hidious as the 9-5....pleaseeeeeeeee
