Going to look at a car on Saturday near me. Sounds good enough for what I need it for (parts most likely) but the owner seems to think its a an '86 T8. I can't say I've seen or heard of any T8's in Canada after they introduced the T16's in '85. I've seen late NA 8 valves (as late as 88) but the only place I've ever heard of this late of is the UK and other parts of Europe.
Is the owner mistaken? Or am I walking into a nice rare find? Guess I'll find out soon enough, but there's still 4 nights of dreaming about it. Wouldn't want to mislplace my delusions. |

yep, 5 year overlap in UK. T16's from '84 & T8's until '89. maybe the dealer struggled to sell the T8's once the 16's were introduced, although 2 years seems a long time. might account for one or two later registrations though. let's hope its that rare find

In the US the 16vT came out for M85 and the last T8 was 1984 model. Saab still built them tho till the end of 8v production in '89. But Canada... it's strange. Maybe you can find someone at Saab Canada to tell you

hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha I think its going to end up being a T16, which sucks because I'm sort of hoping its not and that the header is in good condition. As well the head, the APC & Intercooler .... etc, etc, etc. Two good things though, good tires ( I need) and good fenders (I need) in the same color as mine. |
