I'm looking at an 05 9-5 and ran a Carfax report on it and it came back clean. After talking to the seller he mentioned that the car had been hit in the front and the air bags had been deployed.
He bought the car and fixed it but nothing is showing up on a Carfax report? Any ideas why? |

The accident was probably never reported and fixed out of pocket. That and carfax is not infallible.

My old 900 was struck by blowing debri (a piece of sheet metal) while driving in a Windstorm, I had to pull over...police came, took report.....a Carfax several months later by a buyer showed an accident..."Vehicle collided with object on Highway"...not even close to the police report..."Vehicle struck by windblown debri"...
Carfax, as said is not 100% |

Kind of scary, if the results are so hit or missed. I just pulled a report on my wife's car that was rear ended twice and it's clean. I guess you might be better off taking it to a mechanic to look at instead of a Carfax report.
