Default The great British boozer!

We are planning a trip away this coming weekend and are stopping over in Harrogate on Thursday evening before continuing north on Friday. I've been there before on several occasions and know of a fantastic pub which is part of a small chain of similar boozers.

I'm not posting this as any sort of advert but if anyone should happen to be in Harrogate or any of the other areas where the other pubs are then I would recommend them. I've also been to the ones in Northallerton and Skipton and they too are great. Fantastic food and a great choice of British and imported draught and bottled beers, a must for beer fanatics!

The bar always offers a varying range of eight real ales, two Belgian draught ales and draught Erdinger Weissbier.
there is a pub just down the road from me that has 6-8 guest's on all the time and a huge list of bottled stuff and ciders.

Its quite a challenge to try and get through all the pumps along the bar (i think i managed it once but regretted it!)

I don't suppose that would be Al from the Albions new venture would it? Can't remember the pub name, I know it's in Crewe! Is it the Borough Arms, I should remember, I was there 2 months ago?

If you ever come by Washington, D.C., USA, I recommend the Brickskeller near Dupont Circle - their claim to fame is longest beer list in the world! It really does blow your mind when you look at the huge list of beers (It's almost impossible to choose).

Here's a link to "the list":

I don't think I've ever had a problem chosing beer! Sometimes it's better to let someone else make up your mind though, especially if it's the guy behind the bar telling you to go home.

edit.

Wow, I've just read that beer list. I'm on my way!

(Don't suppose you have a spare room? )

i dont actually live in the town, but i work near the borough arms. never been in though but am awfully tempted when i drive past by the titanic sign on the wall (titanic stout is my favourite beverage!)

This is the best pub near me: linky though i dont get there as much as i'd like since as soon as i bought my house here all my mates moved away!

I used to work for Titanic Brewery! Prefer the White Star myself but Stout is a fine beer. Borough Arms well worth a visit, splendid pub.

Ok, the list is good. Duvel is there, Leffe is there, and for just drinking Stella Artois works just fine. I could manage an evening there.

Haha, it really is a small world!

You really can't beat buying your beer direct from the brewery!
