Default Installation of Roof Mount Antenna Questions.

Who has converted from motorized antenna to roof mount ala Viggen? Any tips or tricks? I have a 2k2 SE w/ Onstar (not used). Can I just put the roof mount antenna in place of that? Is there any way to rig them booth up?

Thanks in advance guys.

I don't want a window mount... The idea of "shark fin" + Viggen antenna doesn't suit my taste...

Any more input guys?

i've installed the viggen antenna on my roof, bought the kit from genuinesaab including the plug. the install is very straight forward. remove the existing power antenna, plug the hole with the GS cap, pop off the light on the headliner (i drilled directly above it), tuck the wiring through the headliner, under the plastic pillar moulding leading to the trunk, and ofcourse behind the trunk liner where it meets the antenna cable.

some advise...the hole does not have to be large at all, just enough to get the antenna flush with the body. also, once you've done a mockup and lined up the antenna, tape off the surrounding area of the drill location once you've identified it - you don't want your paint damaged by a wandering drill bit..
