Just flew into Dublin this morning from Canada.
WOW, there are lot's of Saabs here. There was even one at the rental agency. Still getting used to right hand drive and left hand roads - but I think I'm getting used to it. I'll be here for 10 days and I'm still putting together the itinerary. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!! |

I was there last in April 2001, we drove from Dublin up the N4 to Sligo, then during my stay we took the N17 to Galway, it is soo beautiful out there! My family is from Glenamaddy, I've only been out to Galway once but I want to get out there again one day in the near future!

Yeah, theres plenty of saabs in Ireland, but not so many old ones. Ireland has a pretty bad case of new-car disease. If you make it to cork, there are more old saabs down there.

Only saw this now but you have another 5 days..!
My suggestion would be to hit West Cork at some stage. That's not the cutesy Kinsale West Cork, it's beyond Skibbereen West Cork.. it is very beautiful off the beaten track..Castletownshend/Baltimore/Schull & the islands, Crook Haven/Mizen Head..all the way to Ahakista.. sure then your'e so close to Kerry.. but West Cork for me .. I'm not from there but I know a local quite well Welcome to Ireland & I hope you have a great stay. James. - btw, I know of a guy who has 4 900's down in Cork, somewhere.. |

Thanks James,
We are having a fantastic time! Drove up through Ennis/Corofin then over to the Atlantic then back to Limerick today. Fantastic scenery. Glad I'm not driving the Saab over here though. I'm driving the s*it out of the little Ford Focus. Heading to Galway tomorrow. I'll take your advice and head back towards Cork on Sunday. Still lots of time left. I appreciate the advice Regards, Paul |
