I know there are a few scattered threads about this, but I was looking for those of you that HAVE installed Aftermarket Nav systems.
Which one? Are you happy with it? Have any pics? What would you do different? I'm getting an 06 next week, and haven't heard a lot of good things about the stock system (...and I want to use an iPod and Sirius Sat.)

Jeez...not a popular thread, topic, or car?
(or all of the above!)

Windshield mount or in-dash replacement?

You might want to check out the forums over at trailvoy.com. They have quite a few threads on doing this and they even have some 9-7X owners over there. They're very friendly over there and seem to like the 9-7X a lot.

Ok, so I've ordered the following laundry-list of stuff. It's all being installed on Thursday, so we'll see how it goes!
Pioneer AVIC-Z1 Nav Unit ND-BT1 - Bluetooth Adapter CD-IB100II - iPod Adapter SIR-PNR2 - Sirius Sat Brain Metra VT-GMOS-04 - Bose Adapter PAC SWI-PS - Steering Wheel Adapter ...and a rear-view camera. I'll keep you all in the loop as to how it goes, and what I end up paying for the installation.

I hope you didn't pay MSRP for that... Anyway I think I speak for the entire community at SC when I say some pictures would be nice |

From the passenger side, with the tilt disabled.

Drivers perspective without tilt. VERY similar to the stock setup.

Wit tilt...MUCH easier to see while driving. (Not that I'd look away from the road or anything!

The only additional antenna is the Sirius one at the back of the vehicle.

Can you see where the NAV antenna is?
I didn't think so...because it's under the dash.

Nothing new up here either!
I AM going to see if I can use the existing XM antenna when I add XM this weekend. (On the Z1, you can have both!)

I just wanted to say that your aftermarket NAV installation looks really nice, and blends very naturally with the dash. Great job!

Very, very nice. It's the way it "should" look. How did the steering wheel adapter work out? Did you lose any functionality or did anything strange happen?
