Question Seal kit for brake master cylinder reservoir

Has anyone ever used seal kit for brake master cylinder reservoir. Main is leaking for last couple of months. New reservoir cost $100 AUD, sealing kit $30.What is the best option?

Thanks

Szat

In the master cylinder repair kit there are are the 2 rubbers that seal the resrevoir outlets to the actual master cyliner , If the leak is actually from the reservoir , the other possibility is the feed tube to the clutch cylinder if you have a manual . Would be surprised if the actual plastic reservoir itself leaked and if it does it must be split , so no kit in world would fix that . SO assuming it isnt split , the kit is the way to go your new $100 reservoir will leak just as quickly as the old one without these seals replaced , , Not sure what part of AUS you are in , I'm Vic , if you are .. VOLVSAAB in keysborough have the kits ... about $ 15 , if that isnt an optin to you , get back to me
Cheers
Les

They can be variable. If the cylinder bore is in good condition, then a rebuild should work. If the bore is pitted, scored or rusted it's junk. I did one which was fine except that first thing in the morning I would have to push hard on the pedal to get it to move. Once moved all was fine. I've since replaced that one though...
