Has anyone tried installing the pop-out cupholder in their car?



I was thinking about ordering the parts for it and coming up with somewhere for it to fit. It seems like it wouldn't be too difficult - it doesn't take up much space, and is self-contained...

I haven't tried installing one, but if you haven't played with one in person, I can tell you that it's the coolest cupholder ever made. I had to open and close the one in Carter Saab's 9-3SS in their showroom about a half dozen times, and then tell several people at work about it.

I sat in the one at the Auto Show and was really amazed - it had more wow-factor than the ones in my Jetta and GTI, and people always seemed so impressed with those.

I need to go and look at the dimensions (when opened) again to see if it would work somewhere around the ashtray area. I'm planning on getting rid of the ashtray (it's useless for coins!)

Thinking that I could fit the cupholder in the top area of the ashtray area, then fashion a small storage tray for coins, etc. under it....
