No, I don't want to deal with "Deel" Saab service, they are bunch of idiots!
I need a knowledgeable Saab mechanic who has Tech II and Saab cartridge for Tech II. Almost all mechanic shops have GM's Tech II but none has Saab cartridge in it, what they have loaded in their Tech IIs are all the GM production cars (included 2006 Saab 9-7X) but no other Saab models of any year. Anybody knows anybody preferably in South Miami area who can run Tech II settings for 2003 9-5 Aero and who knows Saabs in general?? There are very few Saabs in Miami and I think that's why there are no (maybe one or two) Saab specialist mechanics here, I'm just trying to locate them. Thank you for your help. |

Have you tried the listings tab next to forums at the top of the page? There are 18 dealers/specialists in the Florida area but only 2 in Miami specifically, you'll know better than me what of the other 16 specialists are nearest to you.

Of course I did Kermit, no specialists listed in Miami area, only 2 "dealers", that's all. I know couple of good mechanics but nobody has Tech II with Saab cartridge here in Miami, only that two Saab dealers have Tech II w/Saab cartridge and those people are absolutely bunch of idiots, even if you write it down what do you want, they just don't do it and want to charge you an arm and leg for some stupid Tech II settings which does not require to much intelligence to change them. Anyway, eventually and hopefully one day I will find a mechanic who knows Saabs and who has Tech II tool with Saab cartridge in it in Miami area and I will also find someone who can put the performance parts I'm planning to get. Thank you for your reply. |

Don't know anyone in Miami but try calling Saab Services in Fort Lauderdale. I was just talking to the owner, John Schreiber, at the SOC this weekend and he mentioned that he either bought the new one, or was thinking about it.
Apparently the reason few people have it is because the dealers have forced the company to keep the price high to discourage independent shops from buying it. The newer Saabs are almost totally dependent on doing throings directly through the CAN interface.... |

What about that place with the huge sign on their wall that says "Saab Solution" in South Miami right on US1? I've never heard anything about them, but have seen their building there for many years.
... however, despite their signage, not sure I've ever seen a Saab there, either. |

Behind that building there are several European and Japanese auto specialists (including Volvo, Corvette, Mitsubishi, Honda etc.) but no Saab as usual. I don't understand that, why we Saab owners must deal with this official Saab "Stealer" Services, and why there is none small or mid size mechanic shop who is capable to fix Saabs, very frustrating. I'm still working on it, as soon as I find a Saab specialist who has Tech II (w/Saab cartridge) I will post it here. Last edited by Palmiye; 31-08-06 at 06:52 PM. |

Bump-
I moved to Miami a couple of months ago and my 2000 9-3 needs a significant amount of work. I believe it has a blown headgasket- Any reccomendations? I am in the grove but would not mind going down south if it would be worth it. |

Anyone dislike Schumacher in West Palm Beach? I had my European delivery Saab sent to them a few years ago. I know it's far but my car, at least, rarely needs repair.

Used to go to them all the time. Then the service manager left and the new staff is less than helpful and outright lied to me about replacing parts that didn't need replacing. Didn't have any better luck with Sheehan Saab in Pompano, who told me my turbo was too small for the tune I had gotten. Dealerships are good whilst you're still under warranty, but once that's up, flee.

European Auto Service Center 3773 Bird Rd. Miami, FL 33146 Phone: 305-446-0061 My personal experience is that they are professional with their diagnostic, but I felt like the issues were only solved if I bought new parts. For example my throttle body needed to be cleaned but they advised for me to purchase a new one. All I did was clean it and it took care of my problem. I did not like that |
