Saturday July 22 we will be heading from Brampton Ontario to Orlando Florida.
4 adults, 5 kids, and 2 vehicles - my 1999 silver 9-5 and a 2006 Caravan, light blue. If you happen to see me, give a wave ... you know I'll notice you and wave back! I'm hoping to make it as far as Columbia SC in the first day ... but we will just have to see how it goes ... 2 of the kids actually get car sick, so this could either be more challenging than we can possibly imagine or they will find themselves sleeping a lot due to the gravol they will be taking ... We're heading through the boarder at Queenston/Lewiston and down along I-190S to I-290E to I-90W. At Pittsburg, we hang a left and hit the I-79S. Onwards to I-19/I-19S, I-77S, and I-26E. From there we will hit the I-95S ... once the 513km's there are done, we should be in Orlando! Don't forget ... wave, flash your lights at me, whatever you need to do ... But I don't think we'll be able to stop ... that is something we'll just have to play by ear ... We will be spending 5 days in a row at Universal ... and I'll have my cell ... PM me if you think you'll be in the area and I can give you my number. |

Universal is awesome! Don't forget to ride the Dueling Dragons... My friends and I rode it 9 times in a row when we went!
On your way back, you could always take the scenic route through Texas... Well... except it wouldn't be very scenic because you'd have to go through Kansas (where there isn't much to see!). Have fun!

We've been to Universal a few times already ... and my oldest son and I go on every ride. His first real coaster was the Hulk! As for the drive back ... I think we'll be hauling it pretty good ... remember, 5 kids ... |

That's when I start my holidays too! Have fun! I don't think we're going that far, but we are driving all over Ontario I can tell you that. Here's a map I made for the boy so he would stop asking me where we were going and what we were doing.

Have a great time. Remember that you all love each other.
Just a few words of warning, the heat is just brutal at this time of year. So lots of sun screen and hats. Orlando must be one of the hottest spots in the state during the summer.

We did a red eye trip from FL in March, Fort Lauderdale to the Bronx in a matter of 1200 miles and 22 hours straight through, in an old Mercedes. To make myself sound like an idiot, I really didnt think Florida was all that big, 6 hours from Ft. Lauderdale to the FL/GA border, just under the time I've made it from Southern NY to the border at Montreal on I87.
Have a safe trip, hope the kids make it down without any sickness and have a great time and keep an eye out for smokies! (Do you have a CB? I was using one on I95 in CT last night, they are an invaluable tool!)

Something tells me that I may have to bring a trailor to carry the changes I will need for; tires, oil, coolant, brakes, etc ... not to mention the extra clothes we might need. |

Hoping to see some pics of you and the misses with Mickey soon. Or maybe of you and the misses standing along side the Saab in front of Denny's. There must be at least one palm tree in the shot.
Stay Cool, it's hot down there!!

I was in Ft. Lauderdale back in March and only spotted two Saabs, one SPG and another black c900. On the drive home I didnt spot another Saab until like Virginia.
