Does anyone know how to remove the black plastic glove box trim? I want to remove mine and have it hydro-imersion painted brushed aluminum color. Is it possible to remove this piece.

I'm interested in doing the same thing for my Saab. Which company are you planning on using?

I'm using VCfinishes, LLC...the website is VCfinishes.com
I haven't decided whether to go with high gloss, satin, or low gloss brushed aluminum finish.

I'm not sure exactly how to remove the piece yet. I don't see brackets or screws that hold it in place or does it just snap off with prying with a screw driver?

Isn't this the cover for the passenger air bag? I think I want to know a little more about that operates before I'd pry on it.

My concern is the airbag system. I was wondering if anyone had taken one off before. I know you can by the black decor trim from saabpartsonline.com so I'm assuming theres away to take it off. The Saab aluminum trim piece replaces this so if anyone has installed that aluminum trim piece how did you do it?

If you are talking about the trim that is right beside the glove box button yes it just prys out its held in by little snaps but the button is also part of the trim and there is two t-25's ont eh backside and you have to tkae the glove box out to get to them

Thanks, I got the glove box trim off. Pretty easy except that mechanism screw which is hard to get at. Next, I want to remove that coating off the piece so the paint is going directly on the plastic and not that coating. Still have to decide on high gloss, satin, or low gloss finish. Unsure which will look best. Any thoughts on the fiish?

Pretty sure that a low gloss finish would look best, aim for the same look and colour as the steering wheel button columns and the gearshift trim ..
