Over the weekend, i turned off my 06 9-3 and the radio would go off. I tried to turn it off manually (pushing the volume button) with no luch. I started the car again and with the car running, i again tried to turn off the radio, still no luck. Turned the car off, radio still on (doors open). I finally pulled the radio fuse out of the fuse panel. Problem has not come back, yet.
anyone have any thoughts? |

The power switch is not a switch per se. Pushing it sends an electronic signal.
You may have a problem with the ICM (the unit that houses the stereo controls). If the problem recurs, just tell your dealer. These units suffer electronic gremlins occasionally, and Saab seems pretty liberal when it comes to swapping in new units. |

Thanks. This happened on a Sunday. When I called the dealer on Monday, they told me that if it happens again, come directly to the service dept so they can look at it. Yeah, right!

Did you install a hands free kit & bluetooth for the mobile in your car? The EHU don't fit very well with such devices, specially when the kit isn't properly installed...

Spartanrob;
When you turned off engine did you remove key from ignition as well before trying to turn radio off manually ? Friend of mine had same problem and removing key,not just turning engine off,enabled radio to be turned off without removing fuse. |

I have a 9-5 and Harmon Kardon unit - although it will turn off with the "volume/power" button, if I don't use that button the music keeps going until I remove the key itself even if the key is in the lock position.
Then again - you heard of "Christine?" If you can only get one radio station and it happens to be music from the 50's I'd seriously consider trading your ride very soon!! |

No Christine I strongly recommend to check the connections, specially the negative one to the car body. You have a steel bracket below the EHU with a bolt&nut where you can connect the (-) wire See photo. |
