Dont kno what to do.....please help

Hi guys i just thought that id ask everyones opinion...my car has been studdering under hard acceleration.....and makes loud engine backfires....egine not exhaust....it is also misfiring at idle speed......i think its either the DI cassette of a vacuum leak but the cassette was replaced about 5yrs ago...and i cant seem to find a vac leak....im also get 2 flashes of CEL which if memory serves me correct that would be (ironicly) Memory Failure....but im not sure if that has anything to do with that......

If the DI cassette was replaced 5 years ago, then it may well be faulty. Can you arrange to borrow one to test?

If it is the DI, then it's easy to replace (4 bolts).

I'm gonna have to go with Kenneth on this one, sounds like your DI is faulty. Too much gas not enough spark = backfire.

thanks for the replies and advice....i thought it might be the DI as well. i dont have one that i could borrow but im gonna take it to the shop...he has an extra one ill have him test it....thanks again...ill update when i get more info.

Check your spark plugs too....
My car had a miss fire... it was one of the spark plugs starting to die...

i just replaced my plugs less than a month ago...New Symptom= i was messing around in my drive way a bit and i noticed than the car wanted to stall....hmmm....could it still be the DI?
