Just out of curiosity, will anyone here be heading to Lime Rock for the races Memorial day weekend?
Its typically a tradition for me to go up every year, and this year will be no exception, but I'll be taking my own car up this year as I'd like to visit a relative nearby afterwards. I read on limerock.com that Frankie Muniz, Malcom from TV's "Malcom in the Middle" will be racing the BMW race, so that should prove interesting.

I may head up to the Rock for the ALMS weekend around July 1....dunno though...I'm torn between that and the Vintage Festival in Sept.

I am heading over on monday... I love Lime Rock. I miss the Speed World Challenge on Memorial Day like they ran a few years in a row. Now the Speed World Challenge isn't coming at all this year.

I think SWC is going to be at the ALMS weekend at the beginning of July. At least that's what their calendar said last time I checked.
SWC is the main reason I'd plan on going....great racing and my cousin's motorsport team competes in it...he owns At Speed Motorsports which is running the Volvo S60R in the series. He also campaigns his own 911 GT3 Supercup in the SWC under the same banner. |

I'm headed down there Monday, haven't been to Lime Rock before, so it should be a nice time. Only track I've ever seen is mid-ohio in lexington, I hope limerock is as much fun...

Car show at Lime Rock today was great… A little hot but many cars never the less.
Would you believe a Saab took best Swedish car. There were quite a few Volvo’s but the little 1970 96 V4 got the award. |

IMO, the Miata MX-5 Challenge or whatever it's called will be the best race of the day. Combine amateurs with easy and cheap to repair cars = beating and banging their way to first, fun to watch errors, and just very entertaining. I look forward to it each year. This was one of my favorites from today... it was out in the parking lot with the Porsche Club. I'm guessing it's real because 1) it's a Porsche club, not a kit club and 2) it said 1955 Porsche on the registration? Pretty car though. PS - is this anyone's Viggen? Some of you local New England guys might consider joining COMSCC, which races at Lime Rock annually. Bring your car and let it rip....

I still should be heading up, my friends bailed on me though, so as much as I'd hate to go alone, I may land up doing so because I'm supposed to stop off at a relatives house on my way back.
I'll be there with my gray BMW 533i with NY plates...

If you see a black 99 saab 9-3 2-door with a carbon fiber exhaust tip and smoked sidemarkers with NY plates, chances are that it's me!

I got to Lime Rock at 7:30:00AM this morning to bring my daughter to work, people were already pouring in. There was traffic forming at the main gate. Today is going to be wild if the rain holds up. I am thankful I have a full access pass or by the time I return it would be nuts trying to get in.

I just got back, I had to leave during the last race, the sun was beating down on me too hard and I had to be at a relatives house, 195 miles of driving. I took an incredible amount of photos, so here are a few choice shots

What's funny is that I can match you almost shot for shot on that zippo mustang and playboy 350z... I didn't see the crash for either of them, but that zippo stang must have been on its side because it was down to bare metal all the way along the passenger side pillars. Great racing though, and yeah, the sun destroyed me. But, looking like a lobster is so totally worth it for me. I might have to go buy some bronzer just because my face is white where my sunglasses were on all day. They need some more trees for shade coverage, just too hot during the summer.
