Default Did I find the new 9-5? :)

Here's the Aero-X inspired front, and the fastback rear!

The man in the picture is no other than Bryan Nesbitt, Executive Director of GM Europe Design!

It could be, if it wasn't for this curious thing:

It's the current 9-5 restyling sketch: This sketch and the other sketch were obviously made at the same time, by the same designer, probably to illustrate by comparison how the design will evolve from one generation, through the restyling, to the other!

The front-end looks very similar to the current 9-5. Interesting.

But the "grill" (primary air inlet) is nigh identical to so many others(Chevrolet, Nissan for two) that from a short distance, no man can identify the particular car. Saab should return to the "older" three piece grill style, used in the 900ng...Even that one is being copied..

The side looks to be classy, just right for an upscale vehicle.
Excellent proportions - but the wheels are too large now !
They probably do need to clean up the rear and chase away the script-meisters..

Those look great! IMO I think Saab is trying to establish themselves as a more sporty car manufacturer. Most of the general population doesn't really think Saab's can be fast, hopefully the new generation vehicles will show them their wrong!

I'd like to see a deeper grill, ala Audi.

I disagree, at least in my experience.
People seem to think (rightly so) that my car IS pretty quick.
I was pulling out of a lot a few days ago, cop directing traffic. He waves for me to go. I didn't see him wave at first so I hesitated. He shows me the "don't go" sign. A few cars pass go by on the street. He waves me forward again. As I drive by him he says to me:
"You could have made it the first time! I know that car is fast!"
(y'know like he assumed I didn't go the 1st time for fear of not making it)
hahaha

Well both of you are lucky then. Everyone around here thinks Saab's are more about luxury than speed.

Interestingly, it seems to me that those scripts are, in fact, what they think defines the SAAB design... Can't quite decipher it...

Any help?
Tried to compare both pictures:

by the grille: Grille inspired by Jay? Doesn't seem like Jet... Seems like an "a" in the middle...

by the wheel: don't have a clue...

by the windshield: Wraparound windshield

by the tailgate: Aircraft something... seems like "heritage" on the restyling sketch... but on the other one not...

by the doors: Fuselage bodyside

LOL, there was no TCS on '99 9-5's BMW_killer, so there is nothing to take off. Otherwise there is a button, but I believe thats only for 2001+ cars.
